The Urgent Care is one of the SMBs that utilize HexaGrid's proven and reliable cost-effective solutions to optimize their existing IT investments. When they purchased medical Patient Relationship Management application to handle multiple site, Our UrgentCare faced the capacity planning and scalability choices. The application demands realtime patient management at the front desk in printing labels to patient discharges, Insurance card scanning to Claims and Billing. With the volume of traffic flowing during normal business days high availability and application performance is expected between 8am-8pm 365days a year. Trying various thick client solutions failed to meet the performance expectations.
Our Urgent Care centers plan to grow from current 3 centers to 6/8 centers in the coming years, and planned to add digitized X-Ray Imaging system in all it's centers which adds lot of storage requirements at the tune of 2 TeraByte's of Archival storage per annum.
After doing careful analysis HexaGrid recommended DataCenter Managed Server Virtualization Solution. Hosted in Level3 Facility with site-to-site VPN between all the locations, Centralizing there Server and Storage needs.
HexaGrid's Platform allows capacity on demand by scaling the application from single server to Multi server or increasing the memory capacity or installing a new load balancing terminal server with less than 30 minutes of scheduled downtime. All desktop are now converted into thin clients reducing the local processing requirements. During upgrades it is now possible to snapshot server apply patches with the worry of data corruption or rollback's
